Not my first attempt at a reverse harem, but the first time I completed a book with this trope. And, yeah, I liked it. I don’t think I’m going to read a lot more reverse harem romances, but I’m glad I gave this one a try because it was quite a fun ride and oh-so smutty 🥵.
I really liked the lore behind the retelling of Peter Pan. What fell flat for me were the characters. Vane is hands down my favorite, and I wanted to learn more about him. With all the POV changes, there wasn’t enough space for the character development I was looking for. And more characters’ POVs were added later on in each book. Honestly, I didn’t really care for Hook or Roc and would skim through those chapters.
There was so much more to the story than I felt was being told. I wanted to learn more about Neverland and the shadows and the other islands and the lagoon, but after reading 3 books, I barely know anything about the people and environment they live in. In the end, I was just reading these for the spice, and boy is this series spicy.
