This was a very different read for me. Every so often it’s nice to read a sweet, emotional book. One that leaves you with a heartfelt sigh instead of wanting to throw your Kindle through the window and curse the author’s existence. I still love those books, those authors, and all the agonizing emotions they make me feel. And I will keep torturing myself with those stories.

But I was delightfully happy to get to this book finally. It’s a love story, yes, but it’s more about finding self-love and self-worth. This kind of love isn’t always discovered alone. I loved the sense of family in this book. You have two families some would see them as broken, damaged by tragedy. But they are not broken. These are families who love so much that it squeezes your heart.

I love that Athena doesn’t give up on Caiden. And in doing so, doesn’t give up on herself. Their story and the characters around them are inspirational. So if you are looking for a story of love, hope, and forgiveness, this is the one for you. Happy tears only and a happy ending.
