โ€œLove isnโ€™t the stuff of fairy tales, where people are perfect and do all the right things. Love is messy, primal, and flawed.โ€

Pedro. Thatโ€™s it. Thatโ€™s my review.

Just kidding, but seriously WHAT! I hated Pedro in the first book. HATED him. Now I cannot get him out of my head. I was hesitant to read this one because I disliked him so much. But guys, he is redeemable!! I absolutely loved learning more about his character, what motivates him, what molded him into the man we knew and the man he becomes. Oh my goodness, guys, this book!

What I love most about Giovannaโ€™s writing style is how she incorporates the themes of her book through her stories. She is incredibly creative, descriptive, and poetic with her storytelling. And her characters are vivid, realistic, and extremely loveable. I seriously cannot stop thinking about Pedro!

In the first book, we get a glimpse into his abusive childhood. And yeah, I felt bad for him then, but it was no excuse for what he had done to Julia and Griffin. Learning more about his character, why he was cruel, why he closed himself off. It all makes sense. And Anna is this bright light that turns up unexpectedly in his life. Shining her light in the corners of his mind that had been filled with darkness.

Their adventure is not a unique one for a romance, but their love story absolutely is. I love that Anna appears to be your average young maiden from every other romance. But she was full of surprises. I love her! And she is the PERFECT match for Pedro. Seriously, this book is incredible!
