I wasnโ€™t sure I wanted to read this because the first three books were missing the character development I needed. But temptation won out and I read it. I honestly am interested in the plot and want to know more about Neverland and the other islands. There is so much context I feel like Iโ€™m missing though, like when you watch an adaptation of a book but didnโ€™t read the book and the movie was made for fans of that book. If that makes sense.

And Vane. I want to know more about this character. I wasnโ€™t satisfied with what I learned about him in The Dark One. He has so much depth and mystery, I need more of him. And I know this book was about the Fae Princes, but honestly, I donโ€™t feel like I know them any better.

This is my personal preference when I read smut, but I really need plot and character development, and this didnโ€™t deliver for me. So I tried to read it as it is and it definitely delivers on the spice. I just think this sort of smut is not for me. But the author has something here. Sheโ€™s created a Neverland with dark gray characters that are full of intrigue and a world that can go on forever.

If thereโ€™s ever a book just about Vane, perhaps a prequel (PLEASE), Iโ€™ll be there for it.
