โ€œIt wasnโ€™t a monster come to eat me. It was this monster. Whoโ€™s come to eat me out.โ€

If that quote made you uncomfortable, this isnโ€™t the book for you. I started reading Ice Planet Barbarians because my booksta friends were all reading it and loving it. I had no expectations, I thought I wouldnโ€™t like it, I thought Iโ€™d likely be grossed out. Nope, I loved it, shamelessly loved every bit of it.

However, if there was no dual POV I wouldnโ€™t have liked it at all. This story needed Vektalโ€™s voice. You get to know the world heโ€™s from and see him as a person, not an alien monster. The culture of his people is actually very enticing, though archaic.

If I had to choose between fighting for my life against the green aliens who abducted me and a blue-skinned alien with horns who worships every inch of my body, yeah, Iโ€™m choosing the latter.
