โ€œAfter washing up in the bathroom, I add a little lippy and powder to my face so I donโ€™t look like Iโ€™ve just been f***ed to the other side of Christmas.โ€

This quote is not romantic or sweet or poetic. But itโ€™s a damn funny one and why I love Annieโ€™s books so much. I love how she puts her own language in the way her characters speak. It adds that extra layer of storytelling that makes you think about the character, where theyโ€™re from, and why they say certain things in such a way. But Annie also has a way of inserting these sentences that just slap a cackle out of me.

And I love the dedication:

โ€œFor all my readersโ€ฆI hope you can have a little escape of your own with this story, and a little Tranquili-tea.โ€

This was a little tranquil love story, an escape into a cozy little Christmas town in Florida. It kind of felt like a fairytale. And boy does Annie know how to write the best book boyfriends. Grayson is definitely my cup of tea โ˜•. A cup I wanted to keep scolding if you know what I mean. My only complaint is that itโ€™s a novella and I wanted more! But the story was perfectly laid out with angst and spice and a happily ever after.
