โWe forge the strongest sword through the hottest fire and the repeated pounding of a hammer. Alex and I will be the blade that is born from this torture.โ
I absolutely loved diving back into the world of The Head, the Heart, and the Heir. Alice is an incredible storyteller and has built a unique world that feels familiar. In this sequel, our main characters are separated. Alex is fighting to keep her sanity and to stay strong for when Aaron comes to rescue her. And Aaron is transforming into the Datten prince his father never thought he could be.
Oh my gosh, this was so good. And when a love triangle threatened to tear down the plot, it was only strengthened. I adore Gryphon, a new character to the series. He is complex, gray (well actually orange), sarcastic, and quite an a**hole. But I love him! Do I love him more than Aaronโฆno. But maybe? I feel like if I go on I will spoil too much.
I cannot wait for the next book, to learn more about this world and what Alex is capable of.
