I canโ€™t say much about this book because I feel like anything I say will be a spoiler. But Iโ€™ll say this, it was a good missing persons mystery with a twist Iโ€™m sure most people wonโ€™t see coming. I have a curse, I always guess the twist, which ruins the surprise when the big reveal happens. And to be honest, the one answer I needed, I was unhappy with. The guts of the story were great, I loved getting to know all the characters and trying to figure out what was happening in Pastoral. I just felt like the conclusion was lacking.

In lots of ways, I was reminded of The Village while reading this one. And for the same reasons I disliked the ending of that movie are why I didnโ€™t like the way this book ended. I felt cheated like the ending wasnโ€™t as well thought out as the rest of the story. Like it just needed an ending and then another ending to give a solid conclusion and a happy ending of a sort.

Overall, this was a good read. It had a good pace and intriguing characters. I was just disappointed in the ending.
