Reason has no place in a world where love has no power.

A girl from the twenty-first century finds herself lost in time, 1500 years in the past. Her life, saved from the watery depths of a lake by a magical sword. Excalibur. This retelling of the Arthurian Legends explores the fantastical idea that Guinevere was a time traveler.

Knowing the fate she faces, Guin attempts to keep Lancelot at a distance after coming face-to-face with the legendary knight. Thoughts of Josh, Guin’s best friend whom she had begun to fall for, are the only barrier she has against the strong attraction she feels for Lancelot. But Josh is a millennium away, and Guin has no way of returning to him and all those she loves.

As Guin grapples with the idea of time travel, she struggles to accept that all her loved ones are gone. The life she knew is over. The wedding she ran from. The father who gave her an earldom. The best friend who became her lover. All of that is in her past, yet some time in the future.

What an amazing book. I am a sucker for a retelling of any kind, but i have never read one like this before. The world building was absolutely phenomenal. The descriptions of both the modern world and of sixth century England made me feel as though i was actually in the book! The character development was really good. Guinevere has been through so much in her short life, and then she is thrust 1500 years into the past and discovers that she is 'The Guinevere' from the legends. When she meets Lancelot, she is instantly drawn to him, and Lancelot feels the same pull. Lancelot is everything Guinevere could have asked for. He is kind and caring and takes everything she tells him about the future in his stride. That man is head over heals for Guin, and the feeling is definitely mutual. This book is action-packed from the very beginning. I was so desperate to find out what would happen next, but I had to force myself to slow down and enjoy the book!! The ending was WOW!!! I need the next part of this story, like I need my next breath.

**I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.** WOW! Absolutely phenomenal story with incredible storytelling and plot! I loved everything about this book. It had a unique retelling of Arthurian legend. Guin is feisty and not some damsel in distress. The spice is spot on and just 🔥🌶️! *Chef's kiss* Honestly, there is a lot to say, but I don't want to give away too much of the book. All I can say is you won't be disappointed if you read it. Just be prepared to be one hooked from the first chapter to the last. I was invested in Guin's story so much that I read it in just a couple hours! If you like Arthurian legend, time travel, and spicy romance then you need to read this NOW! I can't wait for book 2 and I'll be running to sign up for the ARC copy! Caitriona Dexler you're such a talented writer, keep it up!

An incredible retelling of Arthurian legend, such a unique plot and storytelling. I finished this book within a day. Absolutely loved it. ✅The first chapter had me hooked. ✅Guin is a feisty girl not some damsel in distress. ✅ The spice scenes in this book were just fantastic🥵 💭I really really don’t know whether to trust Arthur😫. A part of me wants to believe the legends that he is a kind, selfless king but I just don’t know. 💭God what happened to Guins mum broke me, I really really felt sorry for her. Specially when she had to deal with her awful stepmom and sister!!! 💭Lancelot was to die for, loved him and I would definitely wanna marry that guy😍😍. Broody, charming and Dammmm sexy!!! ❌ That last chapter, I hate that we are left hanging with a bloody cliffhanger 😭😭😭😭😭 I would recommend reading if you like: 📚 Retelling 📚 A Book that has you hooked from the first chapter 📚 A good sprinkle of 🌶️🌶️ 📚 Fast-paced and good world building

If you love historical fantasy and romance, then you need to pick up a copy of this book. Instantly, I was drawn into this story. The world and character building that Caitriona does is what really made this book for me. I had a clear vision of what everyone looked like and the world. The transition from the present to the past was seamless. While Guin knew she was in the wrong time period, she embraced the most of her time. Although, it was funny when Guin would say refer to something form the present and Lancelot was clueless about what she was talking about. The romance build up between Guin and Lancelot is a hot one. As if I was not going to read the next book in this series. Author, Caitriona drops a major cliffhanger on me. What a way to hype up my excitement for the next book.
